Los Angeles. She studied anthropology and media at Brown University and a
Los Angeles film school from which she earned a degree in 2004.
Alex graduate of AFI's two-year Master's filmmaker
program, continues to be managed by Fenton/Kritzer Entertainment. Her father became the Democratic nominee for president that same year, pushing Alexandra and her sister Vanessa into the spotlight, Alex and Vanessa, don't look alike, and they have different personalities. But each knows what the other is going through. She had small roles in two David Mamet films, "State and Main" in 2000 and "Spartan playing a bartender" released this year. She won an award for her short "The Last Full Measure," Alexandra goes by Ali, A or Alex. Has not suggested any Secret Service names. Alex's appearance at the 2004 Cannes
Film Festival received much media attention as a result of her father's
presidential bid and her attire. An unfortunate confluence of flash lighting
from cameras reflecting off her body made the fabric of her dress almost
transparent, similar to the effect of one-way glass. Normally lit, the dress
was not transparent. Nonetheless, critics questioned whether Kerry knew of
the effect beforehand. The controversy was brief. Alex said, "It was a
beautiful dress that didn't withstand 3,500 flashbulbs," she says. "But 24
hours later, you just have to say it was a moment, time passes, and you hope
you didn't embarrass your father." The Kerry sisters won't say who, if anyone, they are dating. |
